This is a super simple DIY, but one that I think can make a difference! I’ve looked at these frames from Amazon for $12, and they were sold at Urban Outfitters for over $20 but you can make them for much cheaper.

DIY Frame Tools

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Wood rods (you can get them from the craft wood sections in Lowes/Menards)

  • Twine

  • Staple Gun

So you can find these sticks at Lowes/Menards for cheap. Like a $3 total. The ones I specifically bought were more of a styrofoam wood. I believe you also can buy them at Hobby Lobby. They have a bunch of different sizes, so you can choose the thickness. You then can cut it to the length of your poster. Because the rods aren’t that thick, I just used scissors.

Then cut a piece of twine based on the location on the rod that you want the look of! You can staple it to make it look like you would want. I recommend stapling like this so that the twine doesn’t slip through.

Finally, if you are hoping to use the print again elsewhere, you may want to tape or find a more temporary way to connect the print to the wood pieces. However, my print was pretty old so I just stapled it to the wood pieces.

And voila! Really simple, but it makes a big difference in making the poster or print more official or intentional looking!

Pin it for later!

Don’t have time to complete it now? If you’re like me, you’ll want to probably do it later! Click the ā€œPinterestā€ button on the photo to the right to save it for a project later!
